Instructional Technology Goals
Goal 1: Improve Student Performance Through High‑Quality, Standards‑Aligned Instruction
Purpose: To enhance teaching and learning by using technology to support rigorous, engaging, and differentiated instruction aligned to New York State Learning Standards.
Key Implementation Steps (Summary):
Integrate district‑approved digital instructional resources into core instruction
Use blended and personalized learning models to support intervention and enrichment
Leverage digital formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction
Use instructional data to inform instructional planning and coaching
Goal 2: Ensure Equitable Access to Learning Opportunities Everywhere, All the Time
Purpose: To provide consistent access to learning regardless of time, location, or individual student need.
Key Implementation Steps (Summary):
Provide student devices and technology access where needed
Use district‑approved digital platforms to extend learning beyond the classroom
Select tools that support accessibility and Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
Address connectivity and digital literacy needs for students and families
Goal 3: Build Educator Capacity While Maintaining Safe, Responsible Technology Use
Purpose: To ensure instructional technology is used effectively, responsibly, and consistently across the district.
Key Implementation Steps (Summary):
Provide ongoing, job‑embedded professional learning focused on instructional technology integration
Incorporate technology use into coaching, observation, and collaborative planning
Teach and reinforce digital citizenship expectations for students
Maintain compliance with state and federal data privacy laws, including Education Law §2‑d and FERPA
Family Engagement
Instructional technology supports strong home‑school connections by providing families with access to academic information, communication tools, and digital resources. These tools promote transparency, engagement, and shared responsibility for student success.
Oversight, Monitoring, and Status
Oversight of instructional technology initiatives is provided by the Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services. Implementation and effectiveness will be reviewed annually using student performance data, instructional evidence, professional learning participation, and stakeholder feedback.
This Executive Summary will remain in effect until NYSED formally approves the District’s 2026–2029 Instructional Technology Plan, at which time the final plan will replace this interim version.
