To our Wyandanch School District Family,
On Monday, October 12, our school will observe  Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples' Day. This unique day offers our community a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect, and learn from the complex, multi-layered history that shapes our nation today.

By honoring both perspectives, we encourage our students to appreciate the full tapestry of our shared past:

Honoring Indigenous Peoples
We recognize, honor, and celebrate the rich cultures, profound traditions, and enduring resilience of the Native American communities who have lived on this land for centuries.
Celebrating Heritage and Exploration
We also recognize the spirit of exploration, the courage of those who braved the unknown.
