MLK Third Graders Build Solutions in ‘Creepy Carrots’ STEM Challenge

Third graders in Angelique Gonzalez-King’s class at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School recently took part in a STEM challenge in the LFH/MLK Library Media Center inspired by Aaron Reynolds’ “Creepy Carrots.” After listening to the story in English and Spanish, students used materials including tongue depressors and clothespins to design and build fences, then put their structures to the test using real “creepy carrots.”
