Wyandanch Girls Soccer Makes History With First Varsity Victory

Wyandanch Memorial High School’s varsity girls soccer team made school history with a 3-1 home victory over Copiague on Oct. 6, earning the program’s first varsity win.
The milestone marked an important moment not only for the team, but for the continued growth of girls athletics at Wyandanch. The victory reflected the perseverance of the student athletes, the commitment of the coaching staff and the expanding opportunities available to young women within the school’s athletic program.
“This was more than a win on the scoreboard,” Athletic Director Dr. Ty Scarlett said. “It was an opportunity for these student athletes to make history and establish a foundation for those who will follow them. Their perseverance, along with the dedication of our coaching staff, has helped move the program forward in a meaningful way.”
The historic Wolves win gives the team a milestone to celebrate while also setting the stage for the future of girls soccer at Wyandanch Memorial High School.
