Wyandanch Staff Prepare for a Safe and Successful School Year

Administrators, faculty and staff returned to the district on Sept. 1 for the first of two Superintendent’s Conference Days, beginning with a program in Wyandanch Memorial High School’s Warren Fuller Auditorium and a welcome address from Superintendent Dr. Erik Wright.
A key session was led by Director of School Safety Joshua Okpala in collaboration with the Suffolk County Police Department’s Criminal Intelligence Section. The presentation focused on school safety and emergency preparedness, including active-shooter response, situational awareness, Behavioral Threat Assessment Management (BTAM) and strategies designed to help staff respond effectively to potential threats and support a safe school environment.
