Senior Abigail Vigil Accepted to Wharton Pre-Baccalaureate Program

Wyandanch Memorial High School senior, Abigail Vigil, has been accepted into the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School Pre-Baccalaureate Program.
Vigil was previously accepted and attended the Microelectronics and Hardware Development program at the Beaver Works Summer Institute at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
“Abigail has consistently shown her motivation and passion for CTE programs and demonstrated how the skills she learns in class can be applied to business education,” said Dr. Shen-Wei Wu, CTE computer technology instructor. “We are so proud of her for being accepted into the program and for the opportunities it will provide as she prepares for higher education.”
The competitive program offers high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn college credit by enrolling in Wharton courses that cover a broad range of business topics. Students participate in live and independent coursework, real-world learning experiences and gain access to the university’s academic resources.
“At Wyandanch our goal is for every student to reach their fullest potential,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Erik Wright. “This is an outstanding opportunity for Abigail and we look forward to supporting her throughout this program.”
The Wharton Pre-Baccalaureate Program is recognized internationally for providing students with a rigorous academic experience and exposure to one of the world’s leading business schools.
The Wyandanch Union Free School District congratulates Abigail on this remarkable academic opportunity.
