Class of 2037 attends Destination Graduation Walk at Wyandanch High School

Joy and anticipation echoed through the halls of Wyandanch Memorial High School as spirited kindergartners from LaFrancis Hardiman Elementary took part in the fourth annual Destination Graduation Walk. This tradition is designed to inspire the district’s youngest learners by introducing them to the milestone of high school graduation and setting them on a path of academic success from the very start.
Dressed in tiny caps and gowns, the scholars of the Class of 2037 were paired with mentors from the Class of 2025 for a tour of the high school led by the high school’s high-energy drumline. The tour ended as the kindergarten scholars and future graduates processed into the Warren Fuller Auditorium where they were met by the smiling faces of High School Principal Paul Sibblies, LaFrancis Hardiman Elementary School Principal Dr. Darlene White, Lafrancis Hardiman Elementary School Assistant Principal Dianna Rivera and high school students.
“Congratulations to the Class of 2037 and the Class of 2025,” said Mr. Sibblies. “Today is a reminder that every step our scholars take brings them closer to their dreams. We host this walk each year to show our youngest learners what’s possible when they stay focused, work hard and never give up. The journey isn’t always easy, but with determination, support from family and teachers and a strong belief in themselves, our students can achieve anything they set their minds to.”
Next, Dr. White spoke to those in attendance, “Thank you to our teachers and our parents for supporting the scholars and guiding them through their first and last year of school in our district. We are so proud of them and all they have accomplished and cannot wait to see all they achieve.”
Wyandanch High School’s Vocal Warriors added to the morning’s inspiration with a moving performance of “What Does the World Say” by Kyle Pederson.
The kindergartners then delivered a cheerful rendition of “Graduation Song,” offering a glimpse of the joyful spirit and strong sense of community that will support them throughout their years in the Wyandanch Union Free School District.
As the event concluded, the students were reminded that their path to graduation has already begun and their Wyandanch community will be with them on their journey.
