Milton L. Olive Middle School top five scholars recognized

On May 9, the top five graduating scholars at Milton L. Olive Middle School had the pleasure of joining Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gina Talbert and district administrators during a special recognition breakfast to share their future goals.

These outstanding scholars had an opportunity to personally meet with Dr. Talbert, to learn about her career and responsibilities as superintendent of schools, her education and the preparation needed to be a leader in the field of education.

During the breakfast, the scholars were congratulated for their extraordinary academic achievements and their hard work and dedication to achieve success. 

“We are so very proud of you and all you have accomplished,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gina Talbert said. “You are a role model for your classmates and bring pride to your school and to your families. Your dedication to achieve success is a true testament to your commitment to succeed now and in the future. I look forward to hearing more about your achievements as you enter Wyandanch Memorial High School.”

Congratulations to the Milton L. Olive Middle School top five scholars: valedictorian Imutinyanosa Aghedo, who achieved a GPA of 101.5% and hopes to attend Columbia University with a major in engineering and mathematics; No. 2 Dimas Ventura, who achieved a GPA of 100.15% and is hoping to attend Harvard University to earn an MBA and become an entrepreneur; No. 3 Loni Quinteros-Martinez, who earned a GPA of 99.18% and would like to attend Princeton University, major in political science and become a politician; No. 4 Yakelin Diaz-Rodriguez, who earned a GPA of  97.59% and hopes to attend New York University; No. 5 Ana Pereira, who achieved a GPA of 97.08% and hopes to attend Stanford University to become a psychologist.   

These five scholars completed four Regents exams and earned seven high school credits.
