Wyandanch Elementary Students Head to the North Pole

The hallways of the Lafrancis Hardiman and Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary Schools in the Wyandanch Union Free School District were filled with festive decorations and the sounds of happy students as they took part in Polar Express Day.

Students and Teachers prepared ahead of time by working together to decorate their hallways, doors and bulletin boards in different holiday themes and styles. Then, wearing their favorite holiday pajamas, students from all classes and grade levels paraded through the halls before arriving at their destination; “the North Pole,” where each student received a candy cane to enjoy.

In the classrooms, the students took part in different activities such as writing prompts, word searches, and some classes even enjoyed hot chocolate to celebrate.
